The Jagdtiger was primarily used by two German anti-tank battalions: schwere Panzerjäger-Abteilung 653 and 512. S. Pz. Jäg. Abt. 653, which had previously been equipped with Ferdinands, was the first to receive Jagdtigers and also received more than S. Pz. Jäg. Abt. 512.
